Ikigai Your Way to Success
Have you heard of the Japanese concept of ikigai? It’s a philosophy that focuses on finding joy in life and work, and it’s been gaining popularity as a way to lead a more balanced and meaningful life. The idea behind ikigai is simple—it’s all about combining what you love with what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. Let’s take a look at how you can use ikigai in both your business and personal life.
How to Use Ikigai in Business
When it comes to using ikigai in business, the key is to focus on finding something that meets all four criteria—
what you love doing,
what you are good at,
what the world needs,
and something that can pay your bills.
You don’t necessarily have to find one single thing that meets all these criteria; rather, it is often best to focus on developing several different skillsets so that you can offer multiple products or services. For example, if your passion is writing but not everyone wants to pay for written content, perhaps you could also offer editing services or web design services as well. That way, even if one area isn’t making money for you right now, another will be able keep the lights on while still allowing you to do something that brings you joy.
Another way to use ikigai in business is by seeking out opportunities where your skillset intersects with the world’s need.
For example, if there’s an upcoming event or project that could use someone with your particular set of skills—and it pays well—you should definitely take advantage of it! This approach allows you to make a living doing something that brings both financial stability and personal satisfaction. Plus, when others see how successful this venture has been for you they may be more likely to hire or recommend you in the future!
How to Use Ikigai In Personal Life
The same principles apply when using ikigai in personal life—find something that meets all four criteria (love/good at/world needs/can be paid) but also adds value to your life outside of work. This could mean taking on freelance projects or volunteer work related to your passions or hobbies; starting a blog about topics near and dear to your heart; learning new skills like coding or graphic design; even engaging with like-minded individuals through social media platforms such as Twitter or Instagram – anything really! Just remember: whatever activity or project it is that helps bring balance into your life should meet all four criteria – love/good at/world needs/can be paid – otherwise it won’t truly qualify as an “ikigai".
All in all, using the concept of ikigai can help us find greater meaning and purpose in both our professional and personal lives. By focusing on activities where our passions intersect with our talents and abilities—and then finding ways for this combination of traits benefit our surroundings—we become much better equipped for success no matter which path we choose. So start exploring today - who knows where it might lead!
